HALF LOVE HALF ARRANGED SEASON 1 REVIEW:-
‘Half Love, Half Arranged,’ based on Itisha Peerbhoy’s book of the same name, is an engrossing and binge-worthy series that seamlessly resonates with millennials by providing an intimate look at the complexity of arranged marriages. This romcom is a treat to see, with six episodes each lasting less than half an hour.
Riya Tanwar (Maanvi Gagroo), a self-sufficient 30-year-old lady, has methodically planned her personal and professional life, but after her first love suffers heartbreak, she decides to start on the journey of arranged marriage. This decision thrusts her into a world of meetings with possible suitors, creating an enthralling quandary: can she find real love within this hectic process?
The subplots involving Riya’s childhood friends, Arf Iqbal (Pulkit Makol) and Tanvi (Shruti Jolly), are endearing. Their sequences together are both relatable and endearing, highlighting the power of friendship. The appearance of Jogi Hooda (Karan Wahi) adds an unexpected twist to the story.
Maanvi Gagroo seizes her character with natural humor and grace. Her character’s journey from a beautiful existence to the desire of real love is captivating from the start. Jogi Hooda’s portrayal by Karan Wahi gives dimension to the plot, making him a truly decent figure. The actors that play Riya’s best pals, Pulkit Makol and Shruti Jolly, lend relatability to their roles and provide compelling performances.
As Riya’s boisterous and loving family, the supporting cast, which includes Supriya Shukla, Grusha Kapoor, Amit Singh Thakur, and Bhavya Grover, adds just the appropriate amount of drama and emotional depth to the series, moving the narrative along.
The program, directed by Simarpreet Singh and written by Shruti Bhardwaj, tackles odd events, hilarious questions, and the familial expectations that come with the search for the perfect match. These themes combine to make ‘Half Love, Half Arranged’ a delightful and binge-worthy series, ideal for anyone looking for a lighthearted romantic comedy that speaks to the realities of modern relationships and arranged weddings.
