Rainbow Rishta is a series that explores the experiences and hopes of the LGBTQIA+ community, focusing on the struggles and hopes of its members. The series follows the lives of various individuals, including Trinetra Haldar, Aishwarya Ayushmaan, Daniella Mendonca, Aneez Saikia, Sanam Choudhary, Soham Sengupta, Suresh Ramdas, and Sadam Hanjabam, who seek to be treated as normal people in various aspects of life.
The series, which lasts approximately 35 minutes, weaves individual stories while discussing the community as a whole. The protagonists share poignant stories, such as Trinetra’s acceptance of her gender confirmation surgery after experiencing bullying and pain, and Daniella’s joke about her village being in-between just like her gender.
Despite the trials and tribulations faced by the LGBTQIA+ community, the series remains focused on accepting and celebrating love. The show highlights the personal struggles faced by these individuals, such as misapprehensions, self-doubt, separation anxiety, abandonment or trust issues, and more. While some stories are later or Sanam-Aneez’s end is shorter, Rainbow Rishta is a wholesome series that touches the heart and sensitizes viewers as it speaks about the unconditional love within the LGBTQIA+ community.
